I am an experienced Head of German with many years of teaching. I lived and worked in Germany for nearly five years, teaching both German to English students and English to German adults at the local Volkshochschule.

When my children were small I tutored in German, English and Maths, both casual learners and those working towards a specific goal. Students ranged in age from seven to seventy. I am currently tutoring in German and Spanish.

A German and Spanish graduate, I have taught in both state and independent schools over many years. I have guided both GCSE and A Level students to achieve their goals, whatever their level, teaching all aspects of the subject.

Some of my A Level students have achieved not only full marks in modules but also gained the new A* at A2, while at GCSE some students have been in the top five in the country.

I am also an experienced examiner, having marked both the GCSE writing and speaking for different examination boards for several years. I am currently a visiting examiner for Edexcel at A2.

I have run a number of German residential trips as well as Christmas market trips to Cologne.

I have also taught KS3 Spanish, giving students the language skills necessary to prepare them for the GCSE syllabus.

Always professional in my approach to teaching, I am both patient and flexible, tailoring lessons to the needs of the student.
