Each one of my students who sat the selective and foundation grammar school entrance tests between 1997 and 2010 has gained a place in a King Edward VI or Queen Mary’s Foundation Grammar School.

In 2010, each one of my students who entered the King Edward’s (independent) School and King Edward’s High School entrance tests was successful; and each one of those students whose parents applied for a bursary has been offered one.

What is the secret of my students’ success? Clear, purposeful tuition with in groups of five students or fewer. Each year, I take only one or two groups of Year Four children from well- motivated and supportive families through to the tests, which take place at the start of Year Six. Assessments for children in Year Four ONLY are taking place this term.
